MHL Out n About & Speaking Out
was invited by Professor Chris Guilding to speak at the landmark Griffith University’s Strata and Community Title Conference held on the Gold Coast recently. The very successful event attracted nearly 300 delegates from around Australia and internationally. Peter’s paper was a critique of the management rights model and covered issues of specific concern to bodies corporate such as termination and assignments. Peter was also then asked to attend a broader panel session and has received much positive feedback on both his presentation, its content and the issues he discussed on the panel. In March 2015, Peter also presented a paper on recent Queensland body corporate law cases to the Australian College of Community Association Lawyers (ACCAL). See their website here: http://www.accal.org.au/ and in May 2015, Peter was invited to present a seminar for new Body Corporate Managers on behalf of Strata Community Australia. MHL welcomes our newest lawyer, Frances Stewart LLB (QUT)!
We are delighted that Frances has agreed to join our growing firm – and are confident that she will be a valuable addition to our team as our newest body corporate lawyer. Frances already has a strong knowledge of body corporate law and processes due to her experience as an information officer at the Body Corporate Commissioner’s office and as a case manager in the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (‘QCAT’). She is bright, intelligent and comes to us highly recommended and we look forward to introducing her to our valued clients.
Frances’ appointment means we now have five lawyers at MHL from graduate to senior level, as well as four highly experienced paralegals and two Bond University student law clerks.
We are now, more than ever, perfectly placed to respond quickly to your needs, and to offer the most timely and cost effective staff mix for every matter.
Employment opportunities
Due to our continued strong growth we are usually looking for clever, personable and enthusiastic lawyers or law graduates to join us.
If you are interested in joining us, please send your CV, with your academic results and a cover letter, to Kate Mathews Hunt at admin@mathewshuntlegal.com.au
